Merced, CA, January 08, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The youth of Merced spent new years eve with the 2014 California Governor hopeful Dr. Robert Ornelas and international Hip Hop group The S.O.G. Crew.
Event was a mega new years lock-in featuring local Merced artist C-Flow that took place at Christian Life Center. The celebration was aimed at junior high and high school students. All those that attended received a live concert, inflatable games, doge ball, arts and crafts, food and much more.
"The Hip Hop concert was amazing," said Ornelas. "Young kids rushed the stage once we started to perform and the energy level hit the roof with bouncing teens. I was asked to share a message to the kids a few minutes before midnight. The message had to be something that we would never forget. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. It was a word that we all needed to hear. I let them know that my up bringing in life was very hard and that I was not a confident person growing up in the streets of Long Beach. This scripture opened my eyes years ago to the reality of God and helped me to be excited about my purpose in life. That excitement helped me to look at my gifts of music as an artist that enjoys painting on a canvas. Whether it was singing, preaching a word, helping people or a creative idea, I did it all with the utmost appreciation to my Lord and savior. Everything I do in life is with so much gratitude towards, God, my wife Melissa, kids and community. By being a grateful person we have witnessed millions of people honor and give reverence to our Father, which is in heaven. The message that night touched hundreds of kids and many dedicated themselves to the Lord. Many also renounced suicidal thoughts. Blessings to all our little brothers and sisters from Merced, CA."
President RoseAnne Johnson from the California School Employees Association hosted Dr. Robert Ornelas and The S.O.G. Crew.
The California School Employees Association is the largest classified school employees union in the United States, representing more than 210,000 school support staff throughout California.
