Anne Irwin Fine Art's "Atlanta City Scenes" Exhibit to Include New Work by Abstract Expressionist Jason Craighead

“My current work includes ideas on construction, deconstruction, revitalization, and the energies produced in an urban environment...There is beauty to be found in the grit if we choose to be observant." -- Jason Craighead

Atlanta, GA, September 26, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Abstract expressionist Jason Craighead will be a featured artist in Anne Irwin Fine Art Gallery’s “Atlanta City Scenes” a special exhibit at Anne Irwin Fine Art Gallery beginning October 26.

Based in Raleigh, NC, Jason Craighead has been represented by Irwin’s gallery since December 2006. In May 2007 he was included in an exhibit at the gallery entitled “Abstractions.” His newest work for the October show represents the most recent direction in the artist’s evolution and a clear reflection of the exhibition’s theme.

“My current work includes ideas on construction, deconstruction, revitalization, and the energies produced in an urban environment,” he said. “My works are not depictions of reality, but responses to the visual treat that is everyday city life within the structure and chaos that surrounds us. There is beauty to be found in the grit if we choose to be observant.

“In recent visits to Atlanta, the aesthetic of the urban landscape is electrified, growing and changing every moment like a giant machine putting the pieces of the puzzle in place.”

Jason Craighead studied painting while attending Gulf Coast Community College and Florida State University. As a regional artist, he has developed a strong patron base that includes US Presidential candidate John Edwards and his wife, author Elizabeth Edwards, along with a host of regional and national corporations and private collectors from Los Angeles to Raleigh. He has received numerous awards and served as a juror for various art shows. He has been selected as Signature Artist for charitable art auctions, and his work has been featured in a number of publications, including Artists & Art Galleries of the Southeast.

Other artists represented in “Atlanta City Scenes” include Miro Sinovcic, Dee Beard Dean, Dana Johns, Stefanie Lieberman, Joe Mullican, Steve Courchaine, Michael McGovern, Catherine Mayer, Danny McCaw, Barbara Olsen, Gary Bodner, Sabre Esler and others.

Located in the trendy Buckhead business district, Anne Irwin Fine Art was dubbed “one of the hot art spots in Atlanta” by the city’s Museums and Galleries Guide. For more information, visit http://www.anneirwinfineart.com.
