Texas Sporting Breed Rescue, Inc. Selected as 2014 Bird Dog Jamboree Benefactor
Denton, TX, January 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Bird dog lovers from all over the United States are planning a Jamboree in Madison, FL on the dates of March 7-9, 2014. The event has national attention, even enjoying coverage by the Pointing Dog Journal last year. In 2014, Bird Dog Jamboree is expecting over 1,000 dog lovers in attendance.
In August 2013, Texas Sporting Breed Rescue, Inc. (TSBR) was one of several well-established national rescues nominated as benefactor of the 2014 Bird Dog Jamboree.
The Bird Dog Jamboree is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that strives to unite the strength of bird dog lovers - whether they hunt or not. So many of our canine hunting partners are left alone and uncared for every day. Their mission is simple - to support birddog rescue through festivals, field trials, and friends.
The Bird Dog Jamboree will donate all proceeds not used to cover expenses to a different bird dog rescue/shelter every year. This year, they have selected Texas Sporting Breed Rescue as the recipient.
“What a wonderful thing when you find like causes that share in your passion and drive. Birddog Jamboree is just that to TSBR. In looking to further our mission, we strive to align ourselves with organizations that support the unification of bird dog lovers, both hunters and families all working together to support the breeds we adore.” -Marisha Teagardin, President
The nomination process began with responding to a lengthy questionnaire and providing references from the community, veterinarians, foster families, adoptive families both hunter and pet homes and explaining the processes for various aspects of rescue.
Phase two of the nomination process required that each group write an essay telling the story of their rescue. Tasked with making the nominating committee feel the heart and soul of the organization, TSBR volunteers set out with the hope that committee members would enjoy a glimpse into our journey, and mission, and maybe shed a tear, or a smile (or two) along the way.
Beyond the sheer honor it was is to be selected to participate in the nomination process for the 2014 Birddog Jamboree benefactor, it is really about the benefit to the dogs we love. Both the potential financial support to continue our mission, and the community support and camaraderie both locally and beyond, the dogs stand to gain at every mark.
TSBR Board of Directors and volunteers will rise to the challenge of representing our beloved breeds and are proud to take the next step in assuring their futures by being the Bird Dog Jamborees 2014 benefactor. TSBR Volunteers, Board Members, and adoptable dogs will travel to participate in the Bird Dog Jamboree in Madison, Florida, March 7 - 9, 2014.
Highlights of this event include;
-Field trial contests and demonstrations that celebrate dog and handler ability and style.
-Seminars from top trainers and conservationists like Doug Deats, Dave Kunselman, Mark Fulmer, and others.
-Sporting clays contests that test shooter skill.
-Vendor showcases where vendors in the industry display their wares in booths.
-Raffles, auctions, and sales of hunting and dog related art and items.
-Veterinarians and dog enthusiasts conducting seminars and classes on maintaining dog health.

It truly is for the love of the dogs!
