Leland Saylor and Sierra West Consulting Group, Inc. Reach a Settlement, Affirming Leland Saylor’s Ownership and Exclusive Rights to SAYLOR Trademark

San Francisco, CA, January 15, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Leland Saylor, a leading construction consulting expert known for the Saylor cost publications, announced today that he has reached a settlement with defendants Sierra West Consulting Group, Inc., formerly known as Sierra West LLC, Saylor Publications, Inc. and Mary Wallers (collectively “Sierra West”), regarding the federal trademark infringement lawsuit filed against Sierra West in August 2012.

The terms of the settlement affirm Leland Saylor’s ownership and exclusive rights to the trademark “SAYLOR” (U.S. Reg. No. 3,976,948). The settlement also grants Sierra West a temporary, non-exclusive license to the trademark for manuals and indices published and sold in 2014 only. After December 31, 2014, only Leland Saylor and organizations approved by him have rights to the publication of manuals and indices bearing the trademark. Furthermore, under the terms of the settlement, Saylor Publications, Inc., must be dissolved no later than January 15, 2015, and the domain www.Saylor.com transferred to Leland Saylor no later than December 31, 2014.

Throughout 2014, Leland Saylor and his family owned entities will continue to publish Saylor branded data, which has been personally approved by Leland Saylor. While Sierra West may use the trademark in the manner previously used through 2014, Leland Saylor has not endorsed the data available at www.Saylor.com or sold by Sierra West or Saylor Publications.
