Grimes President Michael O'Leary Appointed to Dean's Council at UNF

Jacksonville, FL, January 15, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Division of Continuing Education at University of North Florida allows students, business professionals, and even retirees the opportunity to stay current within their field of business or perhaps launch into a brand new career. To facilitate on-going education and course development, Dean Bob Wood calls on the hand-picked professionals of his Executive Committee, who have extensive industry experience, to provide input and direction.

Because of his expertise in supply chain management and transportation, Michael O’Leary, President of The Grimes Companies, has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Dean’s Council. “Michael is knowledgeable, well spoken, and has a business savvy sense about him that we’d like to tap into as we develop topics and courses for our certificate program,” stated Dean Wood. “Innovative professionals like Michael who have their finger on the pulse of the industry are vital to moving our programs forward.”

One such program is the division’s Certification in Transportation and Logistics (CTL), whereby professionals can not only stay current in their role in the industry, but also understand with much more clarity the other aspects of supply chain management.

The advisory role that O’Leary plays encourages growth for the college as well as participation from the industry. “Michael was chosen not only because of his logistics industry expertise, but also because of who he is as a person,” commented Lori Frederick, Logistic Programs Director.
