Baby Boomers Are “Exploring Life After 55” with New Publication
After 55™ Housing and Resource Guide launches navigational guide for adults age 55+
Norfolk, VA, September 27, 2007 --(PR.com)-- For Rent Media Solutions, a leading apartment resource for searching apartments for rent nationwide and a division of Dominion Enterprises, announces the launch of Exploring Life After 55. After 55 Housing and Resource Guide, a For Rent Media Solutions publication, worked in collaboration with the AARP Foundation to create the annual supplemental publication. Geared towards adults age 55 and beyond, Exploring Life After 55 is a navigational guide for housing and related services.
This new publication serves as an educational resource, addressing subject matter important to baby boomers who are planning their retirement, aging adults, and adult children who are researching housing options for their parents. The first issue covers a variety of topics including: an assisted living and health check list, a description of housing and care options, estate planning basics, how to guard against identity theft, resources for “grandfamilies”—grandparents raising grandchildren—and warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease.
The 2007-2008 edition of Exploring Life After 55 made its debut at the Life@50+ | AARP National Event and Expo, held in Boston earlier this month.
“Exploring Life After 55 is the result of an ideal collaboration between After 55 Housing and Resource Guide and the AARP Foundation,” says Robyn Epps, national director of sales for After 55 Housing and Resource Guide. “This supplemental publication is unique because it offers both housing options and informative editorial content with this audience in mind. We are excited to work with such an influential name in the after 55 marketplace.”
The magazine will be published once a year and distributed to AARP Foundation offices nationwide as well as to local industry events and senior centers. Exploring Life After 55 will also be available at the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) Conference and Exposition, and at the “Building For Boomers and Beyond: 50+ Housing Symposium,” hosted by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Both conferences will be held in May 2008.
“Deciding where to live is a big step and should not be taken lightly,” says Matthew McCloy, director Economic Security and Work for the AARP Foundation. “This supplemental publication contains great information on topics that our audience deals with on a daily basis. The AARP Foundation is pleased to join efforts with After 55 Housing and Resource Guide in its first ever annual housing and resource guide.”
