He specializes in high energy astrophysics. Dr. Kniffen also provides science and technical support to the government. He is affiliated with A.A.S., A.P.S. and I.A.U. He was born on April 27, 1933 in Michigan. He obtained a Ph.D. at Catholic University of America in 1967. In his spare time Dr. Kniffen enjoys sailing.
