2007 National Champions Crowned in Michigan
Eden Prairie, MN, September 27, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Callaway Golf Galaxy Golf Tour 2007 National Champions crowned in Michigan.
The Callaway Golf-sponsored Golf Galaxy Golf Tour, the #1 network of amateur golf tournaments in the United States, held its 2007 National Championship at Arcadia Bluffs GC and Crystal Mountain Resort on Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22. Teams from all over the country traveled to Michigan to compete in the 2 day Best Ball tournament for the title of “2007 National Champions” on 2 spectacular courses. Arcadia Bluffs is ranked #10 by Golf Digest Greatest 100 Golf Courses, Crystal Mountain’s Mountain Ridge Golf Course is rated 4 stars by Golf Digest.
The team from the St. Louis Golf Tour, Jim Apostol and Nathan Caplinger, won the National Championship with a 2 day combined Best Ball score of 144. Each player split the first place prize pool of $400, paid out in Golf Galaxy gift cards. The 2007 National Championships concluded the 3rd year of the Golf Galaxy Golf Tour. Nationwide, over 250 events were held in 50 cities where 7,000 players completed in one day 2-Person Best Ball and Scramble events.
Kevin Unterreiner, National Director of the Golf Galaxy Golf Tour said, “The 2007 National Championship event was a true test of team golf on 2 wonderful Michigan golf courses. Our tour players were treated to magnificent views of Lake Michigan at Arcadia Bluffs and the rolling hills and beautiful scenery that Mountain Ridge had to offer. I can’t wait to get the 2008 season started and am very appreciative of all the efforts of our local tour directors and our national sponsors, Callaway Golf and Golf Galaxy.
