Outstanding statesman Yury Maslyukov to celebrate jubilee in September
Outstanding Russian statesman Yury Maslyukov will celebrate his 70th birthday in September. He dedicated his life to development of the local industry. Yury Maslyukov and his colleagues come from the pleiad of Soviet industrialists known as the intellectual elite of the defense industry. Occupying key public posts, Yury Maslyukov has always been considerate to people and their problems.
Moscow, Russia, September 27, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Today, Yury Maslyukov, Chairman of Russian oil and gas equipment and service association, is State Duma deputy from the country’s major industrial center – Republic of Udmurtia; he visits manufacturing companies, analyzes their problems and does his best to support and develop the national R&D potential. Mr.Maslyukov’s vast experience of economic management is very valuable and helpful for the Russian Federation.
Yury Maslyukov was born on 30 September 1937 in the city of Leninabad in a worker’s family. In 1962 he graduated from Leningrad Mechanical University with a degree in mechanical engineering, then from Leningrad Artillery and Engineering Academy. In 1962-1967 Mr.Maslyukov worked as engineer , senior engineer, deputy head of Izhevsk Research Institute of USSR Defense Ministry. In 1967 - 70 he worked as senior engineer and deputy director for research of Izhevsk Research Institute of USSR Defense Ministry. In 1970 - 74 – senior engineer and deputy director of affiliate branch #1 of Izhevsk Machinery Plant of USSR Defense Ministry. In 1974 - 1979 – head of Main Technical Bureau of USSR Defense Ministry. In 1979 - 82 – deputy Defense Minister of USSR. In 1982 - 1985 – first deputy chairman of USSR State Planning Committee. In 1984 - 89 – deputy of USSR Supreme Soviet. In 1985 - 88 – deputy chairman of USSR Council of Ministers, head of State Defense Industry Commission of USSR Council of Ministers. In 1988 - 91 – first deputy chairman of USSR Council of Ministers, chairman of USSR State Planning Committee. In 1991 Mr. Maslyukov was appointed deputy chairman of USSR Cabinet of Ministers, chairman of State Defense Industry Commission of USSR Cabinet of Ministers. In 1992 – a founder of Defense Research Institute. On 17 December 1995, Yury Maslyukov was elected deputy of RF State Duma. Since 11 September 1998, Mr.Maslyukov was appointed first deputy chairman of RF Government. On 19 December 1999 he was elected deputy of RF State Duma of the third convocation. Mr. Maslyukov worked as chairman of State Duma Committee for Industry, Construction and High Technology. In 2000 Yury Maslyukov was elected chairman of the Association of Oil and Gas Equipment Manufacturers. In 2003 he was again elected State Duma deputy from the Republic of Udmurtia. Mr. Maslyukov was decorated with Order of Lenin, Order of October Revolution, Order of Red Banner of Labor, Medal of Honor, and other governmental awards. Mr.Maslyukov’s interests lay in the sphere of engineering, history books collecting.
