Tweecam Launches Website for Video Tweets
Tweecam is a new website where end users record short videos directly in their web browsers and tweet them via their Twitter accounts.
Stockholm, Sweden, January 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Tweecam has launched the first service for video tweets. New web technologies allow users to record and tweet 6-second videos directly in their web browsers.
After signing in to Tweecam with their Twitter account, users can start recording short videos without the need for installations or plugins. This requires that the web browser supports the necessary new web technologies for video and audio access, such as later versions of Google Chrome, Firefox and Opera.
The recorded videos are tweeted from the users' Twitter account with a link to a Tweecam webpage where the video is presented in Adobe Flash format. Each video page has Disqus comments and an 'Up' button for ranking.
The technical implementation for Tweecam consists of client side code for video recording and coding, and server side software running on App Engine, Google's cloud-based service for web applications.
