"Bones" Hitting Into Hong Kong Again - Largest International Trombonists Join SliderAsia for History
Hong Kong, Hong Kong S.A.R., January 21, 2014 --(PR.com)-- A historical number of international professional trombonists from the United States and Europe will travel into Hong Kong for SliderAsia Trombone Festival this summer. Trombone enthusiasts of all levels from everywhere in Asia will enjoy a week of intense music exchanges and share the rare and unique styles of trombone combinations with the general public in 7 public concerts of significant varieties and a number of solo features.
“SliderAsia has gradually become the International Trombone Festival of Asia,” says Dr Denson Paul Pollard, Music Faculty at The Julliard School and Artistic Director of SliderAsia. The largest professional group ever in Asia’s history will fly into Hong Kong to make music for sharing this rare opportunity with the general public including The American Trombone Choir, Columbus State University Trombone Studio, Geneva Brass Quintet, in addition to SliderAsia’s usual long list of international faculty.
"…to introduce the top Chinese trombonists of young generation to the world through SliderAsia," says Professor Ruilin CHAO, Head of Winds & Strings from the Central Conservatory of Music in China. "We expect to receive a large delegation from the Mainland as we connected with Assistant Professor Zheng GUO of Guangzhou Xinghai Conservatory of Music, in addition to Professor CHAO."
"We are determined to bring in every opportunities to develop local young musicians…," says Stanley Chen, Founder of SliderAsia and Chairman of Hong Kong Trombone Association. Introducing local inter-schools and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao categories of solo competitions, adjudicated by international judging panels of professional low brass musicians on worldwide recognized ruling schemes, SliderAsia will foster the next generation of not just trombonists, but competent low brass musicians to showcase under spotlights for highest praise from audience.
