The Gates Corporation to Introduce New 48” FlatClean™ Food Grade Belts at 2014 International Production & Processing Expo
Gates Mectrol will showcase its new 48” FlatClean™ food grade belts in 2mm and 3mm thicknesses at the International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE).
Denver, CO, January 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Gates Mectrol, a business unit of The Gates Corporation, today announced it will introduce a new version of its 48” FlatClean™ food conveying belt in 2mm and 3mm thicknesses at the 2014 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, Ga. from Jan. 28-30.
Both the 2mm and 3mm 48” FlatClean belts are constructed with easy-to-clean urethane and designed with sealed Kevlar® tension cords to eliminate stretch. The 2mm belt is the first dual-durometer food grade belt on the market. Its different coefficients of friction provide better abrasion resistance and more grab, allowing for a smaller pulley diameter and better handoffs between conveyors.
In addition to its new FlatClean belts, Gates Mectrol will feature self-tracking CenterClean™ belts, which are designed for processing applications requiring synchronous motion, and PosiClean® belts. Both urethane belts feature sealed tension members for smooth, crevice-free surfaces, allowing them to be cleaned in place. While plastic modular chain belt washdowns consume as much as $1.3 million each year, urethane belts reduce cleaning time as much as 50%, saving water and improving productivity.
Gates food processing experts, including Chad Young, Tony Maniscalco, Jenny Dakos, and David Ray will also show Gates line of industrial synchronous belts, which are designed for less maintenance and downtime. All four specialists will be available at booth 4930 to answer questions, demonstrate Gates Mectrol products, and offer samples.
IPPE is the world's largest annual poultry, meat, and feed industry event of its kind. Gates Mectrol will join more than 1,100 other exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations in processing and production equipment, supplies, and services.
