VisionQuest Wealth Management Welcomes Steve Laska to the Firm
Raleigh, NC, January 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- VisionQuest Wealth Management, a Raleigh-based wealth management firm serving as a personal CFO to individuals, families and business-owners is pleased to welcome Steven M. Laska as its new President and Chief Investment Officer.
Mr. Laska is a proven financial services professional and leader with more than 20 years of experience in managing various businesses throughout the industry. In his new role at VisionQuest, he will lead the firm’s asset management business, all of their investment strategies (both private and public), and the firm’s acquisition strategy as VisionQuest gears up to acquire nearly $1 Billion in assets under management (AUM) through the M&A activity of founder-centric advisory firms.

Prior to coming on board with VisionQuest Wealth Management, Mr. Laska served as Director of Global Advisor Distribution for Gerstein Fisher’s mutual funds and separate accounts. In this position, Mr. Laska led the firm’s efforts to build distribution on various financial services platforms and was responsible for building the sales team and marketing strategies for this $2 Billion New York-based advisory practice. Prior to joining Gerstein Fisher in June of 2012, Mr. Laska served as a Managing Director at Steben & Co. as well as SEI Investments. He was also the National Sales Manager at PIMCO.
Mr. Laska earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1989, where he was a distinguished military graduate. He served in the United States Army as an Armor Officer from 1989 to 1993 during the first Gulf War. Steve Laska brings his wife, Cherry and two of their three children (Chad and Brook) to Cary, North Carolina. Their oldest son, Travis, is currently a junior at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore Maryland. Mr. Laska has a passion towards education as he was the Founder and CEO of a socially responsible education company that became one of the leading providers of No Child Left Behind (NCLB) services in the State of Florida.
