Denver, CO, January 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Toll Brothers Colorado recognized three local charities as winners in its fourth annual decorating contest. Judi’s House of Denver was selected as the top charity and received $1,000 to support its mission of helping children who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
Local charities were given $250 for supplies and then challenged with decorating a room in one of Toll Brothers’ model homes. The winning charity, Judi’s House (www.judishouse.org), received its first place award for decoration of the model home in Toll Brothers at BackCountry in Highlands Ranch.
Judi’s House was founded by former NFL quarterback Brian Griese in 2002 in honor and memory of his mother who died when he was 12 years old. More than 6,000 children and their adult caregivers have participated in the organization’s support groups since its inception.
“We were overjoyed to learn that our organization was chosen as the winner of this year’s competition,” says David Livingston, CEO of Judi’s House. “We provide our services free of charge so this $1,000 will be well used. We would like to extend our gratitude to Toll Brothers for inviting us to participate in this event.”
The ALS Association Rocky Mountain Chapter received second place honors and $750 for its decoration of the model home in The Enclave at McKay Shores, Broomfield, while the Humane Society of Longmont was in third place and received $500 for its decoration of the sales trailer in Anthem Ranch by Toll Brothers, Broomfield.
“All of the groups did a great job of decorating the model homes,” says Charlie Bowie, Toll Brothers Colorado Division President. “The contest was close but Judi’s House received the most points from our judges based on the categories of originality, color scheme, placement and use of materials, and overall holiday feel.”
