Dr. Robert Burke Elected to Executive Board of Directors as Secretary of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery
Robert H. Burke, MD, FACS director of the Michigan Center for Cosmetic Surgery, was elected to Executive Board of Directors as Secretary of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Ann Arbor, MI, January 24, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery announces the election of Robert H. Burke, MD, DDS, MS, FACS to its Executive Board of Directors as Secretary of the Academy at their 30th annual scientific meeting in Hollywood, Florida January 18, 2014.
“I am honored by the fellows and members of the Academy and their confidence in electing me to this prestigious position,” said Dr. Burke.
The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery represents cosmetic surgeons world wide. With headquarters in Chicago, this is their thirtieth year of representing continuing education, evidence based research, and patient safety initiatives for Cosmetic Surgeons.
“With input from multiple specialties, the American Academy provides a forum for learning and exchanging ideas with the goals of providing safe, evidence based patient care,” according to Dr. Burke.
In addition to his position as Director of the Michigan Center for Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Burke is a Clinical Professor at Michigan State University and an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Michigan. He is principal investigator in FDA studies of silicone breast implants for Mentor and Allergan Corporations. He is also involved in approved laser research projects as a principal investigator.
He is a trustee of both the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. He is committed to providing quality, evidence based care in a safe environment.
