New Directors in UK and Australia Join Independent Authors Association
Two new directors based in the UK and Australia join the Association of Independent Authors expanding the company’s directorship across five continents.
New York, NY, January 24, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Association of Independent Authors announced the appointment of Tom Chalmers and Scarlett Rugers to its board.
Tom Chalmers is the founder and managing director of London-based IPR License, the first global digital platform for authors and publishers to submit their rights including foreign and translation rights for licensing.
Chalmers first became involved in publishing in 2005 when he established Legend Press. Since then he has been shortlisted for UK Young Entrepreneur of the Year, UK Young Publisher of the Year, UK Young Publishing Entrepreneur of the Year, and longlisted for the Enterprising Young Brit Awards. He is also an Enterprise Ambassador for the Prince’s Trust.
Based in Melbourne Australia, Scarlett Rugers has worked for several publishing houses in the area of design including Amazon’s imprint, Montlake. She has since established her own design businesses, Chick Lit Book Covers and Scarlett Rugers Book Design Agency.
A published author, Rugers has been writing for 16 years and enjoys helping other authors create compelling covers that match their stories.
Chalmers and Rugers join the board’s current directors who are based in Asia (Leigh K Cunningham), South Africa (Fiona Ingram) and the USA (Ron Fritsch, Stephen Windwalker, April Hamilton and Beth Kallman).
The Association of Independent Authors has 1,800 members in six continents. It was established in 2009 to advance the interests of the rapidly growing body of self-published authors.
The association has appointed one Fellow to date, JA Konrath.
