Bencardino Excavating and Louis A. Bencardino partners with McDonald Building Co. to manage all excavation site work for veteran housing project in West Philadelphia.
Bensalem, PA, January 26, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Bencardino Excavating is working with McDonald Building Co. to manage all the site excavation at HELP Philadelphia IV, a project to provide affordable housing for U.S. veterans.
The project, located at 70th Street and Grover’s Lane in Philadelphia, includes stripping of topsoil, cut and fill of parking lots and driveways, installation of sanitary storm drains, curbs, paving and all foundation excavation.
The building will contain 61 residential units, and also will include medical offices, physician exam rooms, space for offices and community activities.
“We are happy to be providing the manpower to assist in a project aimed at taking care of our country’s veterans,” said Louis Bencardino, owner of Bencardino Excavating. “We enjoy knowing our work is going to not only provide housing but fulfill other needs these vets may find necessary as they come back from military service.”
The center will be named the Hardy Williams Veterans Center, after the former Pennsylvania Senator, Hardy Williams. Construction began in early January 2014 and should be completed by the end of the year. Tom Hahn is project manager and Chris Cannon will be the on-site foreman for the duration of the project.
