The Douglas Company Names Gayle Ashbridge Director of People Development
General contractor aims to strengthen human capital resources from the inside out.
Toledo, OH, January 26, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Douglas Company, a general contractor specializing in senior care and multi-family construction, welcomes Gayle Ashbridge, Ph.D. to its team as the new Director of People Development. She will head both the Orlando and Toledo office Associate development efforts.
In her new position, Gayle will focus primarily on developing and managing a long-term strategic human resources plan that reflects the staffing, hiring, training and promotional requirements needed to meet the company’s growth objectives. She is also responsible for creating and implementing programs to meet current and future development needs of internal staff. With expertise in the areas of Organizational Development, Leadership Development, Talent Management and Training, Ms. Ashbridge is a welcomed addition to the staff.

Some key goals for 2014 include: working with the leadership team to ensure strong development plans are in place for all Associates, enhancement of the new employee onboarding process, improving the company’s process systems training and working with Associates to identify areas for organizational improvement.

Gayle brings over 15 years of experience in the human resources field to the table, much of which was gained through her previous positions as Associate Director of The Ohio Board of Regents and Director of Organizational Learning at Detroit Edison. Ashbridge has earned a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Toledo and is certified in Green Belt Six Sigma, Association for Psychological Type, Arbitration and Mediation. Her first projects with The Douglas Company will focus on Talent Management, Employee Development and Morale.
