Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes Chosen as “Best in America” Charity by Independent Charities of America
Less than 2,000 of the 1 Million Operating Charities in US are Awarded Seal
Ossining, NC, September 28, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes, (CSAH), a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping severely wounded veterans from the War on Terror and their families rebuild their lives, today announced that they have been awarded the “Best in America” Seal of Approval from Independent Charities of America. CSAH has been chosen as one of the top charities in the country for their ability to meet the high standards of Independent Charities of America (ICA) and Local Independent Charities of America (LICA).
The Independent Charities Seal of Excellence was awarded to CSAH upon a rigorous independent review with which CSAH was able to certify, document, and demonstrate on an annual basis that they meet the highest standards of public accountability, program effectiveness, and cost effectiveness.
These standards include those required by the US Government for inclusion in the Combined Federal Campaign, probably the most exclusive fund drive in the world. Of the 1,000,000 charities operating in the US today, it is estimated that fewer than 50,000, or 5 per cent, meet or exceed these standards, and, of those, fewer than 2,000 have been awarded the Best in America Seal of Excellence.
“We are extremely honored to be awarded the Best in America Seal of Excellence,” said Roger Chapin, founder and president of CSAH. “CSAH was founded in 2004 as a way to give back to the brave men and women who fight and bleed for our freedom on enemy soil and come home severely wounded with limited means to support themselves or their families. Today we are proud to say that we have assisted over 4,100 families and provided over $5 million on assistance. We will continue our fight to help those who have fought for us, and make sure that they have the resources to rebuild their lives.”
CSAH will be included in this years Combined Federal Campaign, (CFC), the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with more than 300 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally to help to raise millions of dollars each year for eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. CSAH is a member of the Military, Veterans and Patriotic Service Organizations Federation within the CFC Give-at-Work fundraising campaign, which runs from September 1, 2007 to December 15, 2007.
