Bass Rock Farm Estates Property Second Highest Sale in Narragansett YTD
Newport, RI, January 30, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty announced the sale of 520 Ocean Road in Narragansett, Rhode Island. The property, sited on Narragansett’s historic ‘Gold Coast,’ sold for $3,300,000 and was on the market for only 29 days. This reflects the second highest price for a residential property in Narragansett this year to date. Sales associates Jay Serzan and Jose Aguon of Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty represented the seller, and Tim Haxton of Re/MAX Flagship represented the buyer. Mr. Serzan noted, “This is an exceptional and rarely available property with almost 300 feet of ocean frontage offering wide-angle views and sweeping lawns.”
The property is sited on 4.4 acres along the rock-bound coastline of Rhode Island’s Block Island Sound in the Bass Rock Farm Estates, a private community. The property was originally part of the Isaac E. Emerson Estate known as “Whitehall.” Mr. Emerson was the inventor of the heartburn remedy Bromo-Seltzer. “Whitehall” was purchased by the Rotelli Family of Providence in 1948. The original house was demolished in 1971, and the property subdivided in the 1980s.
Paul Leys, co-owner/broker of Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty said, “The sale of this property in just over a month and within 5% of the listing price reflects the continuing draw of Rhode Island coastal properties and a southern New England lifestyle.”
