UKSEDS Announces National Student Space Conference 2014
Amherst, NY, January 31, 2014 --(PR.com)-- UKSEDS is pleased to announce that registration for the 26th Annual UKSEDS National Student Space Conference is now open. The conference will be held on the weekend of 1-2 March 2014, and hosted by Leicester Astronomy Society at the University of Leicester.
The National Student Space Conference brings together students, academics, and professionals from across the country to share knowledge of space, discuss the challenges facing the sector, and to create new links between groups. It features talks by leading space science and industry figures, a career fair, and opportunities to take part in discussions and networking events.
Details regarding travel and accommodations can be found at ukseds.org/nssc2014. GoLeicestershire (goleicestershire.com/ukseds2014) is kindly offering special rates for students attending the conference that book their travel before February 12, 2014. Limited travel subsidies of 10-50% are available for UKSEDS members and branch groups travelling more than 150 miles, and attending both days of the conference. Interested groups should contact UKSEDS conference coordinators at conference@ukseds.org.
On the evening of March 1st, there will be a networking reception kindly sponsored by Reaction Engines Ltd, which will provide attendees with an excellent opportunity to network with the exhibitors in a more informal atmosphere. On the 2nd, the Annual General Meeting will be held, at which the UKSEDS committee will present its report for the year, and members will be able to stand for election to the committee. Details of this will be available at ukseds.org.
UKSEDS would like to thank their sponsors and supporters for making this year’s conference possible: Reaction Engines Ltd., HE Space, UK Space Agency, Printech Circuit Laboratories, Serco Group, AstroGnome, International Space University, RAL Space, and Avanti, the British Interplanetary Society, University of Leicester AstroSoc, Leicester Astronomical Society, the University of Leicester Department of Physics and Astronomy, the ESA Education Office, ESERO-UK, and EUROAVIA.
