Beckwith earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in professional writing from Meredith College and has completed the event development program at Duke University. A native of Concord, N.C., she resides in Raleigh.
Beckwith previously worked as a recruitment technician for the Wake County Public School System Department of Human Resources in Cary, N.C., where she assisted with new teacher hires, recruiter logistics and social media/web recruiting. She is an active volunteer, organizing food drives for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and the Raleigh Rescue Mission, serving as a volunteer and team captain for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and assisting with The Goathouse Refuge, a no-kill animal sanctuary.
