The Warrior Thunder Foundation announces the establishment of the Warrior Thunder Foundation Scholarship Fund. The fund, for children of United States Armed Forces Veterans, will award a minimum of $1000 annually to the deserving child who desires to help their community, Nation, military or Veterans starting in the 2014/15 school year.
Millis, MA, February 03, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Warrior Thunder Foundation, thanks to a generous grant from noted author J.H. Sanderson, announces the establishment of the Warrior Thunder Foundation Scholarship Fund starting in school year 2014-2015. This scholarship, utilizing a "pay it forward" concept, will award $1000 to a deserving child of a US Armed Forces Veteran who pursues an education to help their community, Nation, military or Veterans. The scholarship, administered by the 501(c)(3), will be awarded in June of 2014, based on the application and essay from the Veteran's child, from New England, where the nonprofit is based. This is an expansion of the Warrior Thunder Foundation's role in the Veteran community. It's mission, to help injured military, disabled Veterans and their families, has been supporting Veterans for the last three years in New England and across the country. Consisting of all volunteers, the Board of Directors includes Veterans, leaders in the community, and great Americans with decades of experience in philanthropy. Over the last three years, the Foundation has given nearly $100,000 in financial support, goods and services to Veterans and military personnel in need. J.H. Sanderson, the benefactor, a resident of New Hampshire and author of the "Roadhouse Sons" series, among other novels, said he thinks "the goal of the scholarship is fantastic. We are excited, in cooperation with J.H., to offer to help the children of our men and women who have faithfully served this grateful Nation," said Darren Bean, retired Army Sergeant Major and current President of the Warrior Thunder Foundation. "This is just one more way we can assist those who selflessly raise their right hand," Bean said.
