Doreen Poreba of The PR Czar® Wins Exclusive Judges Award from Gold Coast Public Relations Council
The Gold Coast Public Relations Council has honored Doreen Poreba, APR, president of The PR Czar® Inc., with its exclusive Judges Award. The 2014 award was presented to Poreba as both a recognition of her entire career of exemplary PR professionalism and specifically for her public relations work on behalf of the 2013 South Florida Fair.
Boca Raton, FL, February 06, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Gold Coast Public Relations Council (GCPRC) has honored Doreen Poreba, APR, president of The PR Czar® Inc., with its exclusive Judges Award during its recent Bernays Awards Luncheon at the Boca Dunes Golf & Country Club. The award was presented to Poreba as both a recognition of her entire career of exemplary PR professionalism and specifically for her public relations work on behalf of the 2013 South Florida Fair.
After reviewing all 33 entries in the eight competitive categories, the Bernays judges decided to single out Poreba for this special honor. According to Adrienne Moore, APR, CPRC, one of the eight distinguished judges, the judges were particularly impressed by the overall excellence shown by Poreba and the “amazing back-story” behind her entry.
In presenting Poreba with the award, Moore announced, “When former WJNO news reporter and PR veteran John Picano died suddenly last year, his primary client – the South Florida Fair – was left in a quandary. With only limited time before the next fair was to open, Doreen Poreba, APR, known as the PR Czar, stepped in and handled the entire public relations campaign, generating extraordinary coverage – including 40 live and taped news reports, including national coverage.”
In accepting the award, Poreba said, “I am both humbled and honored to be selected to receive this prestigious award.”
Poreba has personally won more than 60 professional public relations and photography awards during her communications career.
This is only the third year in which a judges’ award was presented. The first Judges Award honoree was NewsChannel 5’s Jim Sackett and in 2013, the winner was the Constitutional Tax Collector, Palm Beach County.
The GCPRC’s annual awards program is named in honor of Edward J. Bernays, known as the father of public relations. The awards recognize outstanding performance and campaigns by members of the GCPRC, South Florida’s largest independent organization of PR and marketing professionals.
