Bios:

Austin Alexis won the 20th Annual Naomi Long Madgett Poetry Award for Privacy Issues, published by Lotus Press of Detroit and distributed by Wayne State University Press. The final judge for the contest was Poet Laureate Emeritus of California, Al Young. Austin's second chapbook, For Lincoln & Other Poems (Poets Wear Prada), was a Small Press Review "Pick of the Month." His short fiction, poetry, and essays have appeared in Paterson Literary Review, The Arts Cure, Six Sentences, The Journal, The Writer and others. One of his plays was selected for the Samuel French Short Plays Festival. He has been a writing fellow at the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico and received scholarships to the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and the Vermont Studio Center.

Lorraine Conlin is a U.S. Customs broker at JFK Airport and an avid writer. She is on the staff of Performance Poets Association, hosting at Sip This and at the Bellmore Bean Café. She hosts “Tuesdays with Poetry for Poets in Nassau and is a staff member of The Bards Initiative. When not hosting, she attends workshops and attends and photographs poetry readings. Lorraine’s short stories and poems have been published in anthologies, newspapers and online publications and is working on her first poetry collection. Writing is her ‘Prozac”. Lorraine is a breast cancer survivor and “a student of life”.
