Kenneth P. Lamar, SVP, Statistics Function & Research Group, FRB New York to Speak at KC’s Event on SFAS 159 Scheduled for November 8, 2007

Lamar, Senior Vice President - Statistics Function, Research & Statistics Group with the Federal Reserve Board (FRB) New York will speak at the Knowledge Congress’ upcoming teleconference entitled: “SFAS 159: The Fair Value Option for Financial Assets and Financial Liabilities” This 2-hour event is scheduled for November 8, 2007 at 1:00 pm ET. Recently released Statement 157 boosts existing guidance for measuring assets and liabilities using fair value. It provides a single definition of market-based fair value versus internal measures. Under this provision, Fair values hierarchies are set via market quotes.

The Knowledge Congress has assembled a panel of distinguished experts to help make the new guidance clear to the organizations most impacted. The panel will present their findings, which include best practices in a live two-hour teleconference.

About Kenneth P. Lamar

Kenneth P. Lamar is a senior vice president in the statistics function, Research and Statistics Group. He had been a vice president since January 2003 and assistant vice president since December 1995, both in the same area.

In March 1993, he was named an officer of the Bank assigned to the domestic and regulatory reports department. Mr. Lamar joined the Bank in February 1980.
