Raw Art Works Partners with AdmitLink to Enhance Its College Admissions and Career Preparation for Underserved Lynn Youth
Students in Project Launch, Raw Art Works’ college access program, to receive counseling and essay assistance from Ivy-grad consultants.
Cambridge, MA, February 13, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Two local non-profits, Raw Art Works (RAW) and AdmitLink Consulting Inc., have recently announced their collaboration to help underserved Lynn scholars apply to college and launch their careers.
This collaboration will allow the organizations to promote their common goal of supporting underserved youth in college and career planning. AdmitLink will provide college admissions and career counseling to Project Launch participants through group presentations, organizational materials, personal statement and resume feedback and editing, as well as counseling and training as needed to Project Launch mentors and staff.
When asked about this collaboration, Elaine Ventola, RAW’s Director of Project Launch, commented as follows: “We are delighted to be partnering with AdmitLink. We’ve been so impressed with their wealth of knowledge of the college admissions process. In just a short time, they’ve made great connections to our youth. We look forward to our ongoing collaboration.”
Founded in 1988 by art therapists, RAW has been highly recognized for their unique approach to merging arts education and youth development. RAW offers a continuum of free arts programming to children and teens with increased challenges at each developmental stage. This programming culminates with Project Launch, a college access program in which volunteer mentors and RAW staff, support students and their families through the college and financial aid application process. Ninety-one percent of RAW’s graduating class of 2013 has applied and been accepted to college, and received more than $500,000 in scholarships. RAW is proudly supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the United Way, and The Boston Foundation.
