WikiTrend.org: The Twitter Trend is Getting Online

The trends collective is seeing new ways of utilizing the social network.

New York, NY, February 15, 2014 --(PR.com)-- WikiTrend.org, the top trends collective website, is seeing a rise in the integration of Twitter. Companies are embracing the ever presence of the site, as many have realized it is a go to place for millions of users who seek news, conversation, and advertisements.

“Individuals check Twitter multiple times a day, looking to see what is new,” says a WikiTrend.org spokesperson. “The site is used primarily as a source of conversation, but creative institutions are using the service to reach out to users in different ways.”

The customer service value of Twitter is becoming well-established. The Dutch airline KLM is using the site to handle customer questions and complaints, complete with timed updates alerted when a case will be handled. Companies like American Express are encouraging customer engagement by allowing customers to shop using Twitter, garnering reward points and increased loyalty. And theaters are encouraging live tweeting as a form of free promotion, offering tickets and other perks in return.

Twitter is being used as an alert system. Sharks in Australia are being fitted with sensors that tweet alerts if the predator comes to close to the shore. A parenting app receives tweets every time a baby’s diaper needs to be changed. And a new system from General Electric uses Twitter to notify a shopper when they are out of eggs.

“These are just a few examples of creative integrations on Twitter,” the WikiTrend.org spokesperson said. “The prevalence of Twitter means ample opportunity to reach out to customers, and these institutions have embraced the trend by developing creative ways of communicating.”
