Philadelphia, PA, February 18, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The 3rd Annual Philly Women in Tech Summit will take place on Saturday, April 12 at WHYY’s Headquarters in Center City. The theme, “Lead from Any Chair,” encourages women to attend, learn and network whether they leverage technology to affect business outcomes or are on the team that brings technical advances to life.
The speaker lineup spans startup founders to enterprise executives who hold both technical and business roles. The opening keynote, entitled “The Secrets of Women who own the Room,” will be delivered by Lea Goldman, Features & Special Projects Director at Marie Claire Magazine. The Summit will close with Kathleen Warner, COO & founding member of the Startup America Partnership, who is delivering “Having a Big, Crazy, Audacious Vision For Yourself… and Acting on it.”
At the Philly Women in Tech Summit attendees will learn about the trends affecting how individuals and companies communicate and make decisions… Big Data, Cloud Computing, Data Visualization, Mobile, and how these forces are converging, disrupting business models, and creating new opportunities. The Summit schedule contains 9 sessions across three tracks: hands-on development workshops, business technology (“biztech”) presentations, and ‘Lean In Circle’ discussion groups.
“What makes the Philly Women in Tech Summit different from other women’s or technology conferences is that we are connecting women in technical positions with business women who work at technology companies to talk about the business issues, technology trends and personal matters that affect us all,” says Tracey Welson-Rossman, who created this event as a fundraiser for TechGirlz.org, a charity she founded to encourage middle school girls to consider careers in technology.
The Summit takes place from 9:00am to 5:00 pm and includes refreshments and a luncheon. There will also be job postings, networking opportunities and local employer exhibitors. Early bird discount tickets are available until February 28 and can be ordered online at http://witsphl.ticketleap.com/wits2014/. Discounts are available for students and tickets purchased in groups of 10. Sponsorships are available starting at $1,500 for a table and recruiting ad as well as job posting sponsorships for $250.
Current sponsors for the include Chariot Solutions, Dell Boomi, Alliance Global Services, CapTech and AWeber. Real Food Works is catering the luncheon. The Philly Women in Tech Summit is a part of Philly Tech Week 2014 presented by AT&T, a week-long celebration of technology and innovation taking place April 4–12, 2014.
