E&B Paving Fort Wayne Office Honored with National Awards

Fort Wayne, IN, February 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- E&B Paving, Inc.’s Fort Wayne office was recognized by the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) with “Quality in Construction” awards for its 2013 asphalt paving work on County Road 11A in DeKalb County and State Road 127 in Steuben County’s Pokagon State Park.

Presented at NAPA’s 59th Annual Meeting in Boca Raton, Fla., these awards are the asphalt paving industry's highest honors for best practices and standards, and are bestowed for projects demonstrating excellence in construction applications.

We are not only extraordinarily proud to receive these national honors, but also complete these projects in partnership with our customers at the Indiana Department of Transportation, DeKalb County and Steuben County,” says E&B Fort Wayne Area Manager John Shumaker.

The County Road 11A award recognized E&B’s work for the second of a three-phrase project that will connect State Road 205 with State Road 327. The $1.86 million project included pavement realignment with County Road 56; installation of curbs, gutters and storm drainage; as well as new overhead signage and corridor lighting along the roadway. E&B subsidiary firm Specialties Company also participated on this job.

The SR 127 project entailed eight miles of asphalt milling and one mile of reconstruction paving at Pokagon State Park's I-69 entrance. Applying sustainable paving techniques that featured asphalt mixes with 25 percent reclaimed asphalt pavement, E&B completed this job in multiple phases to ensure visitors could always access the park.
