Poster Unveiled for the 2014 Florida Documentary Film Festival
Designed by British artist David Caines to promote new series throughout Sunshine State.
Boca Raton, FL, February 21, 2014 --(PR.com)-- DocMiami International Film Festival has unveiled the poster for the Florida Documentary Film Festival, a new series designed to bring the film festival experience to various cities throughout the Sunshine State. Designed by artist David Caines of the U.K., the poster was revealed by DocMiami Director, Monica Rosales and Sugar Sand Park Special Event Coordinator Stacee Lanz.
The 2014 Florida Documentary Film Festival will take place September 12-13th at the Willow Theatre at Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton, Florida. The new edition of the festival is dedicated to showcasing the best that documentary filmmakers have to offer worldwide. Last month, the festival opened its call for entries for the 2014 Florida Documentary Film Festival in categories such as: Feature Documentary, Medium Length Documentary, and Documentary Short.
The DocMiami Film Festival kicked off a special edition of its film festival “DocNights at Willow” on February 13, 2014 at the Willow Theatre at Sugar Sand Park. The evening began with live musical performances by American-Idol and XFactor contestant, Tiffany Miranda and BMI Recording artist and star of the documentary “CONCERT” Richard Warren Rappaport.
The film, 1 Giant Leap: What About Me? By UK producers Jamie Catto and Duncan Bridgeman was introduced by Artist/Author and United Nations World Peace Representative, Jacqueline Ripstein.
Upcoming screenings of the special edition include, "Ida Haendel: This Is My Heritage" on March 20th, produced by Chrsitine Jezior of Germany followed by two U.S. films: "The Lion of Judah" on April 17th, produced by Matt Mindell and "In the Footsteps of Willie Sutton" on May 29th, produced by Rich Gold.

The 2014 Florida Documentary Film Festival will take place within the beautiful city of Boca Raton, Florida. Presented by DocMiami International Film Festival and in partnership with Sugar Sand Park, this new series of the festival is dedicated to showcasing the best that documentary filmmakers have to offer worldwide. The festival hosts documentary screenings and provides expert panel workshops at the event for the filmmakers and the community to attend. Past recipients of the “El Rey” Tito Puente Contribution to the Arts Award include: Willy Chirino, Carlos Santana and “Queen of Bolero”, Olga Guillot. In 2011, the festival was recognized by Productionhub.com as the "Spiciest Film Festival" in their 2011 Festival planner. The festival brings together emerging documentary filmmakers, students’ grades 6 -12, as well as film and music enthusiasts. In addition, the amazing concerts have included performances by: Tito Puente, Jr., Melton Mustafa, Prince Emmanuel Abiodun Aderele, Javier Batiz "The Godfather of Mexican Rhythm and Blues", Fito de la Parra, Jamie Catto, Rich Ferguson, Luis Bofill, Kiki Sanchez and Eloy "Rali".
