Airthart Construction: Fifty Years of Constantly Improving Matters to Today’s Homebuyer
Airhart Construction Cites Golden Rule Mindset Key to Success.
Chicago, IL, March 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- This year, Airhart Construction will see its 50th year building homes. Beginning in 1959 as a remodeling and painting company, they built their first home in 1964 in Wheaton and have grown to become a solid and respected home builder throughout DuPage County.
Fifty years is indeed a long time to be in business, especially when the home building industry in the Chicagoland market took such a beating over the past few years. While the firm has had their share of belt-tightening, the Airhart team remained true to their founding principles.
According to firm president Court Airhart, three main factors contribute to the company’s success and have earned Airhart Construction a high percentage of referrals: continually focusing on designing and building better homes for their customers; excellent client communication and service; and financial stability.
Airhart Construction reviews their building practices and home designs on a regular basis due to the ever-changing market. This includes the search for and testing of exciting new materials and methods that allow Airhart to build better homes for better value to the homebuyer. Because of Airhart’s stable leadership, sales and tradesmen have worked for the company on an average of over 20 years. The historical perspective and knowledge base they have is key as they evaluate new products and designs.
“What we used to think of as the typical home purchaser has dramatically changed over the last 20 years. So the challenge for us as a builder is to continually ask: ‘what is the modern home buyer looking for today?’” said Court Airhart. “Yesterday’s nontraditional buyer has become today’s traditional home buyer. They represent active, on-the-go people, whether they are families, busy singles, couples without children, divorcees, empty nesters or retirees; they all want a high-quality home that can be customized and personalized to meet their specific needs.”
When Airhart first started building homes in the '60s and '70s, contemporary homes with cedar mansard roofs that seemed to grow organically from the landscape intrigued the buying public. The exciting open floor plans with tall spaces closed the deal. During the 1980’s, the company began building Scandinavian contemporary-style homes. The most popular of these was a multi-level home known as the “Nordic,” with geometric shapes and angled cedar siding. However this spring, four new Modern designs will be introduced. The three and four bedroom homes ranging from 1900 to 2600 square feet will reflect the exciting Mid-century modern and International styles that are so distinctive with floor plans that relate to the modern family.
According to founder Mac Airhart, “Our designs have always focused on the human experience. Views are extremely important. Inside a home you want an expansive view, not a restricted one. Excited anticipation is the feeling we hope our customers experience. We bring the outdoors inside with careful placement of windows and doors.”
For Airhart Construction a critical business principle from the beginning has been: “We treat others the way we would want to be treated and build homes we would want to live in,” said Court Airhart. By developing an organized channel of communication for their customers and constantly evaluating the homes they build, the Airhart Construction Company has experienced success and has earned Airhart a high percentage of referrals and repeat clients. “It’s a process that we’ve built our reputation on and it’s as sound as the strength and quality of our homes.”
“Many factors go into building a new home such as craftsmanship, attention to detail and product knowledge. However, with the building of a custom home, there must be good communications between the builder and the client and when that is the case, the process is one of the great experiences of a lifetime. Just ask our homeowners,” Mac Airhart concluded.
Sales for all Airhart Construction communities are being conducted at two sales offices: at Fisher Farm, 1N578 Golf View Lane, Winfield and Courthouse Square, located at 309 E. Liberty St., Wheaton.
