PTAs Step-In to Fill the Education Budget Gap ~ with Texas State Education Funding Down by $5 Billion, Local PTA Strives to Take Their Fundraiser to the Next Level
Local North Texas PTA works hard to enhance their annual fundraiser to take it to the next level. McCoy Elementary PTA, in Carrollton, offers a rare experience for bid in their upcoming Silent Auction held on the same night at their annual Carnival, Friday, February 28th. With education funding down, McCoy PTA wants to ensure that the students reach their full potential by providing monies to help continue important basic and enrichment programs.
Carrollton, TX, February 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- McCoy Elementary PTA in Carrollton, Texas hopes their largest fundraiser of the year, the Annual Carnival and Silent Auction, will attract double the attendees as well as a very special bidder to buy their donation from Chamberlain’s Steak & Chop House, with a starting bid of $3,000.
The night will include a fun-packed Carnival including 20+ booths, food court and their highly anticipated Silent Auction opened to the public with the featured item offering the unique opportunity for one winning bid to secure:
A Six-Course Dinner & Wine Tasting for 8 with famed Chef Richard Chamberlain at his premier restaurant, Chamberlain’s Steak & Chop House.
The Silent Auction will also include more than 200+ other donated items to be bid on from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. on 2/28. McCoy PTA will be receiving private bids for the featured offering from Chamberlain’s at sauction@mccoypta.org until midnight on 2/27 or in person during the main Silent Auction. All funds go to support basic needs and enrichment programs in the school including field trips, library books, computer software and other instructional materials. The McCoy PTA event is on Friday, 2/28/14 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
McCoy Elementary PTA is a non-profit organization serving as a local chapter under the Texas PTA. The PTA's mission is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. They do this in many ways through countless volunteer hours and raising funds to help their students. The McCoy PTA has won numerous awards within the district PTAs for their consistent pursuit to increase involvement through increased membership, ensuring significant male membership representation, achieving 100% teacher/staff membership and for the variety of programs they offer each year.
McCoy Elementary has approximately 450 students, 60 staff members as well as a tight community of supporters and neighbors that are in close proximity to the school. McCoy is the only elementary school in the expansive Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD that offers the LEAP program. It is a nationally recognized program for the profoundly intelligent that is in addition to the regular "gifted" programs they have throughout the entire district. Many students are from other communities throughout the district vs. their usual neighborhood school including Irving/Las Colinas, Dallas, Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Addison and Coppell.
