Ski Injury Leads to Unique Book and Cancer Research Funding

What do a serious leg fracture, retirement financial planning, slow cooking and cancer have in common? Victor Friedmann of Durham, North Carolina, explains with humor, practical advice and succulent recipes in his new book: The Loafer’s Guide To Successful Retirement And Slow Cooking. To honor his mother and friends whose lives have been touched by this insidious disease, Friedmann will donate 100% of all profits.

Durham, NC, October 03, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Written while recovering from a skiing accident, The Loafer’s Guide To Successful Retirement And Slow Cooking presents in simple language a convincing argument why only those individuals who manage to save at least 8% to 10% of their wages and earn at least 8% on their investments will be able to retire on 80% of their present income—the principle of the magic eight. Without trying to beat the averages, individuals who invest regularly in an all-market index will meet their retirement financial challenge successfully. Tables and simple forms help readers navigate financial planning. As a bonus, readers will be able to use their free time to pursue the perfect barbecue with the author’s succulent recipes and laugh at the expense of the economist community.

Victor Friedmann wrote this book for four reasons: he wanted readers to benefit from his knowledge of retirement planning; he wanted readers to share a few laughs at the expense of economists; he wanted readers to enjoy the camaraderie that true barbecuing promotes; he wanted to make a difference in the battle against cancer. His book is a no lose proposition. The first batch of smoked salmon will save the reader three times the cost of the book. “Time is a critical element in financial planning and slow cooking. Print-on-demand allowed me to publish my book quickly and efficiently. Internet publication is the wave of the future and the future is now,” said Victor Friedmann.
