Spring Lake Rehab Center Expansion Now Finished

Winter Haven, FL, March 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Douglas Company, an Orlando, Fla. general contracting firm, has given Spring Lake Rehabilitation Center in Winter Haven, Florida a facelift.

The project included both renovations to the existing skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility as well as a new addition. The expansion provided the center with an additional 44 private and 6 semi-private, short-term patient rooms. Also included in the expansion plans was a 2,000 square foot Therapy Gym and support spaces. The renovation portion of the project saw alterations made to 21 existing semi-private rooms into private rooms with en suite restrooms. Other added perks consisted of two hydro-therapy spas, a rehab café, ice cream parlor, four new courtyards, a renovated staff training theater and a beauty salon.

The $6.5 million project also called for the installation of a state-of-the-art nurse call system, voice-over system; wander management care system, energy recovery HVAC system, therapeutic spas and the latest therapy and rehabilitation exercise equipment.

The rehab center, owned by Polk Healthcare, LTD (L.P.), was completed at the closing of 2013 and has since opened its doors to new residents. Architecture services were provided by Lantz-Boggio Architects, P.C.
