MobiTV Appoints Charlie Nooney CEO

Emeryville, CA, October 03, 2007 --(PR.com)-- MobiTV, Inc., the leading provider and platform for content delivery over mobile and broadband networks, today announced the appointment of Charlie Nooney as the Company’s chief executive officer. Nooney’s appointment is the successful culmination of MobiTV’s strategic search for a successor to Dr. Phillip Alvelda, the Company’s founding CEO and chairman. Nooney will assume full operational responsibility for the Company on October 15, 2007.

“I'm pleased to announce Charlie Nooney as my successor,” said Dr. Phillip Alvelda, co-founder of MobiTV. “Our goal was to find an executive who could lead a complex business spanning technology, telecom and media. We pursued only the very best candidates with proven track records in scaling mid-to-large businesses with aggressive profitability goals. Charlie exceeded our expectations at every turn.”

Nooney joins MobiTV from his role as president for Technicolor Network Services, a global consultancy and managed services division of The Thomson Corporation focused on the preparation, management, and distribution of content. Nooney was responsible for supporting a wide range of media companies, content owners, channel operators and out-of-home and corporate media networks including BBC Worldwide, Canal+, Disney and ITV. Nooney managed the Company’s global operations, strategic direction, ongoing growth associated with retail, institutional, cinema networks and broadcast services, and served as chairman for ScreenVision, the country’s leading in-theater advertising network, through the Company’s joint venture relationship with Thomson.

“My career has been dedicated to connecting media and mainstream brands with consumers through emerging technology and emerging content, and I have admired the substantial growth MobiTV has achieved as they’ve built a category and created more out-of-home distribution channels for content consumption,” said Nooney. “MobiTV’s proprietary platform, agnostic approach to standards, first class partnership portfolio, and tireless dedication to the consumer experience, all stood out as key indicators for longevity and opportunity. I am honored to have been chosen to lead this company and look forward to contributing to the opportunity, innovation and success ahead of us.”

Prior to Thomson, Nooney was CEO of Premier Retail Networks (PRN), where he spent seven years in leadership roles growing the Company to become the country’s largest in-store television network. Nooney’s responsibilities at PRN included directing the overall strategy, the long-term expansion of the Company’s broadcast and interactive networks, and day-to-day operations, including the Company’s retail media networks which are broadcast into major retailers including Wal-Mart, SAM's Club, Costco, Best Buy, Circuit City and SuperValue. Nooney also played an instrumental role in the sale of PRN to Thomson.

“This Company lives and breaths convergence and Charlie’s diverse background in entertainment and technology, coupled with his impressive C-level leadership experience, made the decision an easy one,” said Paul Scanlan, president and co-founder of MobiTV. “I’m confident that Charlie will have a huge impact as he guides MobiTV to new heights.”

Prior to PRN, Nooney was executive vice president of affiliate sales and marketing for Disney/ABC Cable Networks, where he spent 15 years developing world-class partnerships and network positioning programs, while driving sustained revenue growth.
