Robert Boyette, Mick Grochowski and Martha Williams were finalists in the painting competition organized in January by Agora Art Studios.
Chesapeake, VA, March 07, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Agora Art Studios is pleased to announce that the finalists of the Landscape Painting Contest held last month, Martha Williams, Robert Boyette and Mick Grochowski, will display her artwork in a group exhibition from March 8 through March 15 2014, with an opening reception on Saturday March 8 from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm.
Boyette’s life-long affair with creating art began as a youngster sitting on his grandmother’s porch sketching hot rod cars. His drawing skills were later honed in high school and in college, where he earned a degree in Architectural Design. He is also a photographer, buying his first 35mm camera while serving a tour of duty in the Air Force. Boyette lives and works in Chesapeake creating photographic images and paintings in a wide array of media.
Grochowski, born in Alpena (MI), painted and exhibited his work in and around his hometown during the 70’s and 80’s. He graduated from a local Northeast Michigan college with degrees in Fine Art and Business Management. He now resides with his wife Nancy in Willoughby (Norfolk, VA) and own and operate a printing and graphic design business in Chesapeake, VA.
Williams, grew up on a farm in Southampton County, VA. She is a retired educator that studied at the Visual Arts Center, TCC, in Portsmouth, VA. She enjoys oil painting, drawing, taking photos of abandoned houses and buildings and making greeting cards. She lives in Chesapeake, VA.
“Have three local artists as finalists is an amazing coincidence”, said Jorge Suarez, owner of Agora Art Studios. “All three have very different styles that will connect well in the group exhibition.”
