CSM Corporation Files Application to Build Hilton Hotel in Marlborough
Developer plans to build 153-room Hilton Garden Inn at Marlborough’s Forest Park.
Marlborough, MA, March 08, 2014 --(PR.com)-- CSM Corporation has filed an application with the City of Marlborough to build a 153-room Hilton Garden Inn hotel at Forest Park.
Pending a technical review, the hotel will fulfill the hospitality aspect of the new master-planned mixed-use development, located just off Rt. I-495 in Marlborough’s Southwest Quadrant.
“Forest Park is a very important development to the City of Marlborough, and this application signals the project has moved into a new phase, with its hotel component going from concept to reality,” said Tim Cummings, Executive Director of the Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). “We already have the commitment of a large business—Quest Diagnostics, a large residential property developer—AvalonBay, and now we are looking at adding a great hotel—Hilton Garden Inn. This completes the trifecta, making Forest Park a true mixed-use development. We couldn’t be more pleased.”
As part of the project’s initial phase, Quest Diagnostics is building out its new 200,000-square-foot regional hub lab space, which will service the entire New England market when it opens in the summer of 2014. Also included in the initial phase is the construction of 350 luxury rental units, developed by AvalonBay Communities.
In addition to the continuous efforts to fill the redeveloped office space at Forest Park, the project will soon be looking to round out its final phase with the construction of 75,000 square feet of retail space.
“This has been a true public-private partnership from the beginning,” Cummings added, “and I am pleased to see it progressing for everyone’s mutual benefit.”
