Mayberry Homes Chosen as “Building Partner of the Year” by Homes for Our Troops
East Lansing, MI, March 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Homes for Our Troops, a national non-profit organization dedicated to restoring freedom and independence through the gift of a specially adapted home, honored local home builder, Mayberry Homes, as its Building Partner of the Year at the International Builder’s Show in Las Vegas.
“The entire Mayberry Team is humbled by this award. For the sacrifice of our service men and women across this country, we did this out of gratitude and respect. It was an honor to participate in such a worthwhile cause,” said Karen Schroeder, Vice President of Mayberry Homes.
Mayberry Homes built a new, specially adapted home to accommodate the severe injuries SGT Jolly sustained while serving his country. Jolly was on his second deployment when he was left paralyzed from the waist down in an IED blast in Pakhabe’ Shana in Eastern Afghanistan on March 19, 2011. The home provides Jolly with maximum freedom of movement and the ability to live more independently. Read more about Aaron’s story at www.hfotusa.org/jolly
In a letter to Mayberry Homes, Sergeant Aaron Jolly writes, “I know that it took many people coming together to help Homes for Our Troops to make this dream happen for me, but I especially want to thank Mayberry Homes for its role in coordinating all of the components of the build process including labor and materials to ensure my home was perfect. Furthermore, I wish to congratulate you all on your well-deserved honor of being chosen as this year’s Building Partner of the Year by Homes for Our Troops.”
