Eligibility Checks via HETS is a Breeze for mumms® Customers

New Orleans, LA, March 13, 2014 --(PR.com)-- mumms® Software announces the ability for customers to access the HIPAA Eligibility Transaction System (HETS) without leaving their home screen. mumms® has made accessing HETS a breeze for mumms® Customers by automating the application so there is nothing for the hospice to do.

The Center for Medicare and Medicare Services (CMS) created the HETS 271 system with the provider’s beneficiary eligibility data in mind. Hospices will now use HETS to access Medicare beneficiary eligibility information. The deadline for hospices to transition from the Common Working File (CWF) to HETS is fast approaching. While HETS responses will look different from CWF responses and may require some familiarization, HETS will offer better access to information and improved content.

For these customers, the process of validating their Hospice NPI with Ability and adding HETS to their existing DDE certification was taken care of automatically.
