Sheppard Pratt Health System Appoints New Medical Director to Refine Geriatric Services
Czarina Santos-Borja, M.D., takes lead of Geriatric Services offered at Sheppard Pratt.
Baltimore, MD, March 13, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Sheppard Pratt Health System is pleased to announce Dr. Czarina Santos-Borja as its new Medical Director of Geriatric Services. In her role, Dr. Santos-Borja also serves as Service Chief of the Geriatric Neuropsychiatric Unit and the Geropsychiatric Unit.
Before joining Sheppard Pratt, Dr. Santos-Borja served as the Associate Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center. A Janssen Psychiatry Resident Award of Excellence recipient, and a Neurology Diplomate with added certification in Psychosomatic Medicine, Dr. Santos-Borja has held leadership roles at other institutions in Maryland.
Dr. Santos-Borja is both a former resident in adult psychiatry and an attending psychiatrist at Sheppard Pratt. President and CEO of Sheppard Pratt, Dr. Steven S. Sharfstein commented, “Dr. Santos-Borja rejoins the Sheppard Pratt community ready to combine her pre-existing knowledge of the Health System with her newfound understanding and wisdom in geriatric and long term services.
