About John J. Tomoney
Mr. Tomoney has over 35 years experience in the security field. He is the Vice President of Operations for Strategic Solutions which is a national security service. They provide a variety of security services targeting cargo and transportation protection, supply chain security, executive protection and site security. Mr. Tomoney is responsible for lecturing regarding security productions and consulting. Previously, he was the Director of Corporate Security for The Leslie Fay Companies from 1993 to 1997 and the Director of Global Security for The Warnaco Group from 1997 to 2009. He served as an Adjunct Professor on National Security Issues at the Global Maritime Transportation School at the United States Merchant Marine Academy from 2009 to 2012. Mr. Tomoney has presented before numerous trade and government organizations on Cargo Theft and National Security. He spent 25 years active and reserve service in the US Army in counterterrorism and counterintelligence. He was a Founding Member of the ASIS CSO Council and has been a member of the ASIS since 1992. Mr. Tomoney was a Board Member of the National Cargo Security Council from 2003 to 2005 and was presented with their Distinguished Service Award in 2005. He also received several commendations from the New Jersey State Police. He was born on March 29, 1957 and attended college obtaining a M.A. In his spare time he enjoys reading and strategy games.
