Concerned Dental Care Gives Back with Donation to Kenya’s Kids

New York, NY, March 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Concerned Dental Care is proud to announce their partnership with Kenya’s Kids, which is an organization that provides relief for sick children in Kenya. One of the top requests from Kenya’s Kids was a donation of oral hygiene supplies, in response to which Concerned Dental Care has donated a large quantity of toothbrushes and toothpaste to assist in the organization’s efforts.
There are over 200,000 children who wander the streets of Kenya, many of whom are HIV positive or infected with other serious illnesses. Lack of good oral health is among the top issues with these children. Improper maintenance of teeth during childhood often leads to serious health issues later in life, many of which could likely be prevented if proper supplies for oral health are made available beginning in those early years.
Many people are unaware of the severity of poor oral health. To date, scientists have found links between periodontal disease and a number of other health problems, including heart disease, diabetes, dementia, rheumatoid arthritis and premature birth. Currently there is no exact answer to the link between these illnesses and oral health, but it is speculated that oral bacteria can escape into the bloodstream and injure major organs.
Concerned Dental Care is always looking to provide dental donations for those most in need. Although their practices are located in New York, they continue to work with charities throughout the world, such as Kenya’s Kids. “We want to share the success of our practice with those in need,” comments Concerned Dental Care’s founder Dr. Jay Fensterstock. “There are many children and adults across the world that lack the oral care we can assist in providing.”
Concerned Dental Care hopes that their partnership with Kenya’s Kids will preserve their children’s full-toothed smiles well into adulthood. To learn more about oral health, visit Concerned Dental Care’s website at www.concerneddentalcare.com.
