Rabarama Donates a Sculpture for One Night for One Drop
The eight resident Cirque du Soleil productions take the night off so performers in each show can come together for One Night for One Drop, presented in the Michael Jackson ONE theater at Mandalay Bay.
Las Vegas, NV, March 21, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Now in its second year, the special, one-night-only, collaborative performance seeks to raise funds and bring awareness to water-related issues such as water scarcity in developing countries. Each production has also dedicated the proceeds from one night's performance and donated it to the One Drop organization. http://onenight.onedrop.org/
One Drop is a non-profit organization established in 2007 by Guy Laliberté, Founder of Cirque du Soleil—strives to ensure that water is accessible to all, today and forever. From its inception, ONE DROP has significantly and sustainably improved the living conditions of 300,000 people worldwide.
As in the past year, the international artist Rabarama, www.rabarama.com, and the Vecchiato Arte gallery, www.vecchiatoarte.com, will give their support to the cause, donating one of her sculptures for the charity auction, because, declares the Artist: "Water is the matrix (from the Latin Matrix - uterus, with the same root as Mater, mother) of all Life.
"The source of creation and each artist shares its energy. When you realize that the world today is divided in one of sparkling water, mineral water, hundreds of brands, plenty of water that flows at the only touch of a faucet and in another one of thirst, contaminated water that slowly kills, it's shocking."
"One Drop acts precisely in this fundamental field," declared Rabarama, "and it is no coincidence that this organization was born from a creative as the founder of Cirque du Soleil, Guy Laliberté, and is supported by numerous artists.
"I'm happy and proud to have once again been invited to give my contribution to combine my creative energy to the flow of water that I hope will come to every thirsty mouth."

One Drop develops integrated, innovative and sustainable programs aimed at improving water-access and management of this vital resource throught a one-of-a-kind approach based on the complementary nature of three components:
- The Water-Access and Management component for drinking, agricultural and livestock production as well as domestic uses;
- The Microfinance component to grant loans to populations so they may start productive revenue-generating activities;
- The Social Art and Popular Education component to ensure sound water management and preservation techniques become ingrained in collective behaviors.
With only $100, ONE DROP significantly and sustainably transforms the living conditions of an individual through integrated and innovative water access and management projects. Because these initiatives are sustainable, the money invested perpetually produces positive impacts. Using a one-of-a-kind intervention model, water is used as a driving force to ignite and accelerate community development. ONE DROP will be accelerating the scope and impact of its projects to transform the lives of 1 million people by 2017 in West Africa, India and Latin America.
