A Placebo That Will Cause a Buzz
The independent film production company, Anomaly Pictures, announces that their second feature film Placebo has now begun its film festival submission process.
Philadelphia, PA, October 05, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Placebo is a coming of age dramedy about Shane Canning, who is haunted by his family's history of alcohol abuse, and has managed to avoid alcohol consumption for all twenty-six years of his life. But this is no easy task when his best friends are lushes and he is the sole proprietor of the town tavern. One unsuspecting evening, Shane finds himself subject to a prank involving a spiked beverage, which will change his life forever. From this experience, Shane may have just made the most important scientific discovery of our time, and he slowly becomes obsessed to prove it to the world. Shane's theory: what if alcohol was nothing more than the greatest placebo of all?
The films producer, Faith Sherry states, "Placebo has been one crazy journey. There are still a few tweaks we need to make, but we are extremely close to completing post-production. At times the stress was so high that we thought we might give up. We were under prepared for how grand this project would become. We had very little money and an extremely small crew, but I think our experience and passion prevailed. Everyone involved in the film is genuinely excited and proud. The cast and crew continue to demonstrate how much they believed in the project and us. No producer could ask for more."
The film stars Philadelphia natives, Chris Heuisler (As the World Turns, Gracie, Freaky Friday), John-Paul Lavoisier (One Life to Live), Bourke Floyd (Big Mama's House 2, Dawson's Creek), Theodore Cahn (The Suicide Notes), and Scott L. Schwartz (Ocean's 11, 12, and 13).
Anomaly Pictures is a production company founded by the husband and wife team of Keith Feighan (write, director, composer) and Faith Sherry (producer, editor, sound designer). Placebo marks the second feature film project from this award-winning duo. Their first feature film The Suicide Notes screened at the 2006 Omaha and Silver Lake Film Festivals.
