Bioo Scientific Launches Strip Test to Simplify Testing for Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease Virus

Austin, TX, March 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Today, Bioo Scientific is releasing the NovareDx™ EHDV Strip Test Kit, the first commercial strip test for the detection of Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (EHDV), an orbivirus that infects most wild and domestic ruminants. EHD is endemic in many countries, particularly affecting white-tailed deer in North America.

The NovareDx EHDV Strip Test Kit is a qualitative lateral flow test designed for use in the field or farm, requiring no additional equipment or specialized technical training. In 7-10 minutes, the test gives results that can be interpreted visually or with the use of the optional QuickSTAR™ Strip Test Reader.

The NovareDx EHDV Strip Test uses a monoclonal antibody against EHDV surface protein, increasing the sensitivity and specificity of the assay.
