Model 7316 Offers 16 Channels of AB Switching Plus Gang Operation of Multiple Units
IT Managers can expand their switching capability by aggregating multiple Model 7316 AB switches into a switching system that can simultaneously switch unlimited channels.
Cranston, RI, March 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Electro Standards Laboratories, Cranston, RI, announces the new Model 7316 16-Channel RJ45/CAT5e compliant A/B switch. This switch features Telnet access and IP addressable remote control methods. The Model 7316 allows accessing, on each channel, one of two separate devices via a device connected to the channel’s COMMON port. All 16 channels are switched simultaneously. This switch fits neatly into a standard 19” rack. The switch dimensions are 19” W x 3.5” H x 14” D (48.3 x 8.9 x 35.6 cm) and the weight is 9.0 lbs (4.0 kg).
The switch may be controlled manually via the front-panel pushbuttons. The RJ45 Ethernet REMOTE port accepts Telnet commands to control switch position, lockout front-panel operation, and obtain switch status. Multiple units can be ganged to simultaneously control 32 channels, 48 channels, 64 channels and more. Gang operation, when enabled, allows all units in the gang to stay synchronized in the same position.
Switch position, operating mode, and power status are displayed by the front panel LED indicators and can be queried remotely. The Model 7316 switches all 8 pins of the RJ45 interface and is transparent to data speed and format. For reliability, the switch retains the last switch position in the event of a power loss and continues to pass data.
The Model 7316 is housed in an attractive all metal black box packaging that provides EMI/RFI shielding. The rackmount configuration is standard. Customization of this switch is available. The Model 7316 comes complete with a UL approved 100VAC/240VAC, 50Hz/60Hz wall mount power module that supplies 12 VDC, 500mA to the unit. The supply features a 2-prong, US, non-polarized plug.
An optional wide range power option is available for the Model 7316. This unit, Catalog No. 517277, is a CE, RoHS, and UL listed table mount module that provides 100VAC/240VAC, 50Hz/60Hz. This module features an IEC 60320 C14 inlet that is ideal for international applications. The Model 7316 paired with this module creates a powerful switching system for applications worldwide.
