Worldwide provider of products and solutions for internal logistics, opens Regional Center of Excellence in Hiram, Georgia, in a grand opening event on March 16, 2014.
Hiram, GA, March 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Interroll, a worldwide provider of key products and solutions for internal logistics, officially opened its all-new, 100,000 sq ft Regional Center of Excellence in Hiram, Georgia, in a grand opening event on March 16, 2014. More than 160 partners, customers and journalists came to visit the showroom and to join a guided tour through the factory.
Interroll Atlanta is the region’s newest manufacturing facility, producing dynamic storage, modules and subsystems that will drive operations in distribution facilities throughout the Americas. The grand opening featured a fundraiser for two local charities: The Study Hall childcare learning center, serving young people in kindergarten through fifth grades in five area elementary schools, and Helping Hands of Paulding County. Helping Hands is working to foster a caring atmosphere for anyone experiencing temporary or emergency struggles due to a crisis situation. Interroll contributed a total of $10,000 to these charities.
“This building is truly part of Interroll’s global vision for a significant portion of our revenues in North America. Personally, I am particularly pleased that we were able to build this state-of-the-art facility in a community that has embraced us so warmly and that in return we are able to create local jobs for local people,” said Tim McGill, president of North and South American operations for Interroll.
“Interroll’s commitment to bring this strategically important manufacturing presence to metro Atlanta and Paulding County is a significant recognition of Atlanta’s worldwide logistics ranking and our superior supply chain infrastructure,” said Matthew Patterson, director of supply chain and advanced manufacturing at the Metro Atlanta Chamber. “Interroll’s innovative products provide the critical technology needed to support some of Atlanta’s fastest growing industries, such as food processing, airport logistics and e-commerce. The company will play a key role in years to come by directly supplying the highest quality, internal logistics products to Georgia companies and the rest of the nation.”
Interroll started its U.S. activities in Port Washington, NY, in 1968. In 1990 the company shifted its production facility for rollers, RollerDrives and drum motors to Wilmington, North Carolina. Interroll also serves the North American market with its subsidiaries in Canada and is active in the South American market with its subsidiary in São Paulo, Brazil. In June 2013, Interroll acquired Portec Inc., a leading provider of belt curves in Cañon City, Colorado, enhancing Interroll’s global product range and opening up new application fields for its customers worldwide.
Interroll‘s new Hiram facility will serve customers, including Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, Gilmer, First Quality Tissues, Amazon.com Inc, DHL, UPS and Frito-Lay, throughout North and South America with market-focused product lines and engineering support. With direct access to Atlanta’s international airport and Savannah’s seaport, the Interroll Hiram Regional Center of Excellence is positioned to quickly respond to customers and meet just-in-time inventory requirements.
