Michelle Simms of Terramor Homes Wins Triangle Business Journal’s 2014 Women in Business Award
Chief Operating Officer of Local Luxury Homebuilder Recognized for Business Success and Outstanding Leadership
Raleigh, NC, March 26, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Terramor Homes, a local premier home building company in the Triangle, has announced that Chief Operating Officer Michelle Simms is a winner of Triangle Business Journal’s 2014 Women In Business Awards. Each year, the publication profiles women in the Triangle who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and entrepreneurial qualities, as well as a commitment to community service. Simms, along with 25 other honorees, will be recognized during a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 7 at the Raleigh Marriott City Center.
Triangle Business Journal judges selected Simms from more than 100 nominees for her outstanding leadership in both Terramor Homes and the Triangle community. She co-founded Terramor Homes with Pablo Reiter seven years ago after an extensive career in Triangle real estate. Simms committed herself to her goal of building quality single family and custom homes across the Triangle, or as she defines it, “homes with a touch” of craftsmanship and style.
As the company grew, Simms developed a company goal to deliver meaningful contributions to the Triangle community. This year, Terramor partnered with the MIX 101.5 Radiothon for Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center to build the 2014 Miracle Home, from which all the proceeds went directly to the hospital and health center. In February 2013, Terramor pledged to raise $120,000 for the Radiothon and it was announced a year later that the company collected $200,000, $80,000 more than expected. Simms was vital in helping the Terramor team amass donations to help Duke Children’s Hospital, among many other charitable community activities.
