Wexford Plantation Completes Lock System Restoration
As one of only three lock systems on the East Coast, Wexford Plantation’s lock system affords its members 24-hour deep water access to Broad Creek and the Intracoastal Waterway.
Hilton Head Island, SC, March 27, 2014 --(PR.com)-- On Thursday, March 20th, 2014, Wexford Plantation celebrated the re-opening of their private lock system for their harbor. Their lock system, which is one of only three on the East Coast, was temporarily closed for restoration from Monday, January 6th until Wednesday, March 19th. This restoration project, followed one done approximately 10 years ago, included removing the lock doors for cleaning and repairs, as well as installation of new hydraulic lines and a state-of-the-art computer operated gate control system.
Wexford Plantation retained The Industrial Company (TIC) in Savannah, Georgia, Mike Majer’s Diving Service in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and Electro Hydraulic Machinery Company in Pembroke Park, Florida, to complete the project, which came in early and on budget.

Wexford’s lock system affords its members 24-hour deep water access to Broad Creek and the Intracoastal Waterway.
